Patricia “Patty” DeJuneas is a founding partner in Sibbison & DeJuneas.  She was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey and grew up in Lake Charles, Louisiana and Trumbull, Connecticut.  She has lived in Boston, Massachusetts since 2000. Patty graduated magna cum laude from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut in 1993 and received her Juris Doctorate with high honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1996.   She is a member of the Connecticut and Massachusetts bar and is admitted to practice in the District of Connecticut, District of Massachusetts, and First Circuit Court of Appeals.

In 2013, Attorney DeJuneas co-founded Sibbison & DeJuneas with renown appellate lawyer Wendy Sibbison, of Greenfield, Massachusetts.

As an appellate lawyer, Attorney DeJuneas represents civil and criminal clients in the Massachusetts Appeals Court, Supreme Judicial Court, First Circuit, and United States Supreme Court. Recognized for her expertise, Attorney DeJuneas speaks and writes on appellate issues regularly. She served as the co-chair for MCLE’s 2016 and 2017 Appellate Conference and is a co-author of several chapters in MCLE publications.  She also speaks on various topics at appellate and criminal law conferences.

Building on her years as an associate at the Law Office of Richard M. Egbert, P.C., Attorney DeJuneas has resumed her criminal defense practice. Over the years, she has represented clients in federal and state trial courts in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.  Currently, she works with Attorney Ashley P. Allen on criminal defense matters in Massachusetts state courts and federal courts in Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Pro Bono Activities

  • Attorney DeJuneas dedicates a significant amount of time each year to pro bono work on behalf of individual and organizational clients and volunteering. On behalf of the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts, Attorney DeJuneas has authoried amicus briefs in O'Brien v. Borowski, 461 Mass. 415 (2012); In re Discipline of Attorney, 442 Mass. 660 (2004); and Baker v. Parsons, 434 Mass. 543 (2002). On behalf of the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Attorney DeJuneas authored an amicus brief in In re Tim T., 427 Mass. 592 (2002). On behalf of the National Association for Public Defense, Attorney DeJuneas filed an amicus brief in Bridgeman v. District Attorney for Suffolk District, 476 Mass. 298 (2017). Attorney DeJuneas has also performed pro bono work for the New England Innocence Project, the American Humanist Association, and animal welfare organizations. A life-long animal lover, she also volunteers at the Animal Rescue League of Boston and served on the board of directors for the Massachusetts Animal Coalition and does volunteer work in the animal welfare community.
